Wao! It is really NEW TEAM USA!!
Ogonna, Dani, Tay, Lindsey, Heather, JJ, Kim-G, Robyn, Logan, Kim-W from Beijing OG players aren't there.( 10/12 )
Only Stacy, Nicole from Beijing 2008 players and Nancy Athens 2004 player backed to NT!!!!

Do you remember WGP in 2005 after Athens OG??
Team USA was added many NEW players, and they couldn't go to the final round in Tokyo.....
But, They were keep playing hard for 4 years and finally GOT medal in Olympic.
So I believe NEW players will change NEW TEAM USA... but...still feel missing many great players...

The new team has to do a lot to prove itself, well, at least to this fan since I love the OG team. It was a solid team with great players. I always love the fact that the USA team has such diversity within a team and yet everyone is able to come together and play as a unit. In other teams you just see players with similar ethnicity and backgrounds. So I'm open to accept the new team if they have a similar fighting spirit. But I guess to me the new team can never 'measure up' to the original one which I became a fan of.

I second that.

It will be interesting to see how these girls compete at this high level. Fawcett, Harmotto, Larson and Spicer, they are great in terms of college volleyball, but can they transition to the high international level smoothly?? I’m a little bit surprised to see Barboza on this roster again. She has been training with the NT program in the last few years and I don’t think she can bring any significant impact on the team. Both her passing and hitting are average at best and she needs a lot to improve to keep up with her young, international peers.

BTW, they are not going to develop another backup libero this quadrennial?

[ 2009.7.31 USA-GER ]
[ USA – GER ]
0-3 ( 15-25, 15-25, 16-25 )

I was disappointed the result, because Team USA DID too much errors.
( 1st. 2nd sets: 14 points, 3rd set : 7 points TOTAL 21 ERROR POINTS )
However, we had good point! New comer Nicole Fawcett played well.
I think it was the first game as NT for her, but got points by ATK, BLO and SRV and scored the highest point in Team USA.
It’s just beginning of the match. GO USA last 2 games in BRA.

Thank you.
I think we can watch USA-GER in here

I think receives are not good, so can't pass good ball to setter and can't attack strong ball.
Anyone tell me what's happened in 3rd set 10-16 :?: German serve was NET but GER got point

I saw the game of USA-GER in the address below.
http://www.universalsports.com/mediaPlayer/media.dbml?id=354646&catid=-2&sid=11652&db_oem_id=23000
The impression is written.

Reception of Team USA was not so good,
therefore, Team USA could not be better attacks.

[ 2009.8.2 USA-BRA ]
[ USA - BRA ]
0-3 ( 18-25, 22-25, 13-25 )

BRA played lots Beijing Olympians, but USA fought only Nicole Davis from Beijing Olympian.
We lost the game 0-3, but I think USA had good opportunity to have a game against Gold medalist!
Brazil blocks were really great, especially 3 players’ blocks! Awesome.
Nicole Davis played nice Digs many time, but still USA weak point is reception.
I heard Brazil attacking is FAST, it takes 1.1 seconds to spike a ball from toss up.
I think USA needs more fast play, and need take good BLOCK position seemed unsynchronized.
Go USA next round in Chinese Taipei
