I was surprised at the reason why Stacy Sykora didn't play in overseas league this season.
I think we can read the article about S.S in website USA VB Magazine.

Anyone know which position she used to be before have Libero position??
We don't have libero position, long long time ago....

[ Seems Grandstand player ?? ]
OH/OPP > MB > Setter > Libero
In Japan, many players are good at defenses kind of libero, so it is hard to get the position for foreign player and setter too.

Quick note about Nicole Davis
She played in Turkey league, but don't know how long she played full season or short term.

RECENT PRO: Played for Fenerbahce Spor Klubu in Istanbul, Turkey during the 2007 season. She was the first foreign-born libero to play in the Turkish league and led her team to a second-place finish.
She DID! I'm happy to know that libero player DID well in overseas league!! especially USA member ^^

I heard now, many USA players (not only NT members) are playing in Puerto Rico league, the good point is located near from USA!! I don't know about Puerto Rico league anything. Are there many TOP-level players :?:
I agree that many TOP players already played in Italy, and now seems Turkey league is FUN, and players can get much money!! Japan offered many foreign players, but Japanese company can't pay much money like Italy, so heard some of players will not come to Japan by salary problem. So, Japanese VB fan were very surprised now, Logan Tom is playing in Japan ! Hisamistu must be rich company!!!
I heard All Japan NT players are paid 2000 yen ( $ 20 ) each day since from call-up to break-up a team from Japan VB association. It's kind of bonus money. don't have game but can get $20 a day! Wao! And, when held something big world competition in Final-round ( all 5 games!? ) if Japan win a game, Team Japan is paid $ 10 thousand each one game.
I think a rule is changing that Register player will be 14 players from 12. ( 12 attackers and 2 liberos.) I think WGP 2009 will use the new rule.
But, it is only one chance to change to the 2nd libero when the 1st setter have injury or sick! If the 1st libero changed to 2nd libeto, the 1st libero can't back to the court. I don't know what is the good point to choose 2 liberos in new rule!!!!

wow, so it looks like Davis did great job in Turkey.
The Puerto Rican league usually offers $40k to 60k per season, so what level you will expect on this lower salary league?
