I just read a news (in chinese)which made me really upset. In the news, LP said she thought the only problem of the team is lack of intensive practice like China team (Pls note that the china team has trained 6 months since 1st Jan). The olympic teams like us which didnt prepare well is impossible to proceed. The reality is that we should aim at struggling for the first eight in the olypmics. Hoping to play better than our ablity and move forward is not realistic.
actually LP has complained many times in front of the chinese media that her team did not have enough time for intensive training as the players all came very late to colorado springs because of their leagues in europe. i really wonder why this problem just happened to us but not the other national teams. i think most teams gathered together from early may. and so did the us team. why does she always expect a long and intensive training like the china team? is she too used to the chinese style??
second, i think the team on the court is almost the same as the team in 2004. if the head coach just aims at getting into the first eight, why did the team could have had great chances in the last olympics?! how could the team play well this time if they know the expectation from their head coach??
i just dont like the way she down play the team again and again and always explained the team's poor performance by using 1 simple reason: they were too late to colorado spring for training.
LP has led the team for 4 years and what i saw from the court are the same old faces except Glass.
i cant deny she is a good coach but perhaps not to the US. if u think my opinion is too bias, lets discuss.
gals cheer up!!!
if u can read chinese, pls read her article.
